A more cost effective way to improve your photography
You can do more to improve your photos using Lightroom than you can from any camera or lens upgrade. Improve the sharpness, color, texture of your photos to an incredible degree. You just have to know what you are doing.
So before you rush out and spend thousands of dollars in your quest for better pictures, take the time improve your pictures using Lightroom.
With most things, you have a trade off between simplicity and power. Not so with Lightroom.
It is easy to use – for the most part you just dragging sliders up and down. But at the same time this is what the vast majority of professional photographers are using.
Jim Hamel will show you how to unleash that power – but also keep it simple.
What you will learn
We’ll cover every aspect of Lightroom in this course. First, I will show you the tools Lightroom has for organizing your photos. Lightroom excels in this area, and you’ll never spend time hunting for photos again.
Next, I’ll then walk you through the powerful tools for editing your photos. This is where you’ll learn to transform your photos from ordinary to something special. After you learn how to use all the tools Lightroom has to offer, I’ll show you actual start to finish examples. That way you’ll see exactly how you can use these tools on your own pictures.
Finally, I will introduce you to the things you can do with your photos when you are done, whether that be a print, digital display, or a book or slideshow.
Why this Lightroom course?

This class consists of 30 videos broken down into easy to swallow steps. Here are some of the key features:
Easy to follow. If you have seen any of my other courses or taken my classes, you know I keep things simple. You won’t be left behind in this course.
The course is modular so you can go to the parts that are important to you. Skip around if you want, or watch the whole thing in order. It is up to you.

More than just a video course
The 30 videos that make up this course are just the beginning! This is just the core class, with Jim adding additional bonus videos to answer all sorts of questions and show you additional tips and techniques.
You’ll delve into lots of other interesting topics and Jim will show you lots of additional examples. This will evolve and grow to keep you current and expand your skills.

Jim will do just that, and if your question is something that might help others, he will create a new bonus video. In that way, you can tailor this to your unique style and situation.
After you master the core features, you’ll be able to take Lightroom in all sorts of different directions!
You have one chance to get the shot …
Landscape photography is one of the most challenging genres and disciplines to learn, and the costs of getting it wrong can be disappointing, especially if you only get one chance to visit a location.
You will rarely be in the perfect spot, with the perfect conditions and the perfect selection of gear – but this course will help you learn how to get the most perfect shot you can by ‘stealing’ our instructor’s ‘tricks of the trade’ learned taking photos for the National Park Service of Australia.
Learn from the guy with one of the best jobs in the world
Our instructor’s day to day “job” (if you’d call it that), has him out taking shots of the beautiful Australian wilderness for The National Park Service. He has shot and edited tens of thousands of landscape and nature images.
That’s why we invited Johny Spencer to create this course with us, to help address the key concern we hear from our readers about landscape photography – not getting the shot. Johny is paid to get the perfect shot every time in his job. He has learned every trick under the Australian sun to make sure he gets great results, and he’s passed this on so you can do the same.
In this course you’ll take a 4 hour video journey with Johny from the studio to the great Aussie outdoors, where he’ll teach you everything you need to know to shoot and edit landscapes and nature like a pro.
What to Expect . . .
Every landscape course is going to teach you about planning, gear selection, composition and lighting – at least we hope so – but this one does that and more. We’ve created a course that will leave you feeling inspired, entertained and confident in what you learned.
Why do a boring landscapes course when you can travel through the great outdoors of Australia with a character like Johny? The scenery is stunning and Johny’s fun and relaxed approach means no boring tutorials that you skip through on double speed.
9 PRACTICAL LESSONS TO GET YOU STARTED
Kick off your photography adventure with 9 practical lessons that will help you get set up and get the best out of your camera in the field. Everything from research and planning, through to the equipment, shooting modes, camera settings and focus functions you’ll use to capture landscapes and nature.
HEAD OUT INTO THE GREAT AUSSIE OUTDOORS
Now you’re ready to go on a virtual journey with Johny! Experience an over the shoulder lesson as you both venture into the Australian outdoors. There are 10 fieldwork case studies – each covering a different kind of shot, covering scenes like waterfalls, seascapes and forests, to techniques such as long exposure, macro focus stacking and reflections.
BACK TO THE STUDIO FOR POST-PROCESSING
After each field lesson you’ll get to head back to the studio with Johny and watch over his shoulder as he walks you through his exact Lightroom post-processing workflow. The RAW files are provided with each lesson so you can practice his exact steps.
Learn in a few hours, what would take you months of trial and error to grasp
Everyone is looking to make their photography stand out. It is hard to do if you are photographing during the day like everyone else. But you can do just that by learning to photograph at night.
In a lot of ways, night photography is a new world that has really just opened up with the advent of digital – even more so now that digital cameras have improved so much. So if you don’t have the budget to travel to all sorts of exotic places to take photos, you can still get stunning photographs just by going out at night.
It is almost unfair, the advantage you get shooting at night …
So often, scenes that look nondescript and boring during the day turn dramatic at night.
Streetlights, neon lights, traffic, even the moon and the stars give you things to work with that just aren’t available during the day. And the darkness lets you add effects to your photos that are off limits to the normal daylight shooter.
Can you do it? Sure you can.
It doesn’t require fancy gear. And it might actually be a way for you to find the time to get out and do some shooting.
Think about it – is it easier for you to sneak off and get in some shots during the day, when you have a job, family commitments, and errands to run?
Or would it be better to get out at night after work when the family is wound down and none of that business is going on? Not only that, but your aren’t chasing fleeting glimpses of light at night.
The light never changes at night. So at night, you can take your time and set up exactly the way you want.
But you have to know what you are doing. You have to know the techniques for dealing with the darkness. You have to know the best subjects and how to find them. And you have to have the right gear.
