Find The Right Size
3 Number Sizing System
TerraGrips use the 3 number Tire system. Height x Width-Rim Diameter.
The Tire height and width will determine the TerraGrip size.
2 Number Sizing System
If your Tire uses the two number system, Width-Rim Diameter.
A TerraGrip size with matching height and width will fit.
In some cases tires with a larger rim diameter will affect fit.
Up Sizing
If there is no exact match with for your tire, select the next size up. TerraGrips can be adjusted to fit a smaller tire.
Chain tension must be adjusted to a tight fit before first use.
This may result in uneven spacing between the first and last rubber slat.
Performance will be unaffected but will be noticeable while riding.
Sizing Tips
TerraGrips will work on all types of thread found on riding lawn equipment. TerraGrips are not recommended for R1 and R4 Tires.
Recommendations and Tips for Size and Fit
We strongly recommend that the chains be fitted to the tire prior to actual use to insure proper fit. Tire sizes may vary because of age, replacement, manufacturer, tread or type. Please ensure that the following points are correct when installing your chains.
- For safety use a 2″ Clearance all around the tire is recommended. Tires too close to fenders, frames etc, may get snagged and cause damage to tractor.
- When installing, each rubber slat must be worked into place around the tire for a good tight fit.
- The chains should be tightened as snug as possible.
- When installed and tight, there should be at least one inch of belt of either side of the tire.
